Such a sweet and frothy book- I could easily see this turning into a rom com movie on a cable network or streaming service. Shea has a funny and obsessive superstition about vintage (aka- used) engagement rings. When she's given one herself by her fiancée, she sets off on an adventure through Europe and the US to final the original owners. Along the way she learns a lot about herself, her deep seeded insecurities about life, and whether or not she's even with the right person.
As I said above, this is such a sweet book- it's easy to read and follow along, all of the characters are likable, and the ending is very satisfying. it doesn't have the emotional depth that other contemporary romance novels has, but I could see this being a great book for a vacation or even on a flight. 4.5 stars.

Not my favorite book by May Cobb but still worth reading. Saw the twist coming from a mile away.

Wow what an ending! The first half of the book was slow and not super interesting- last 100 pages though we’re fantastic!

Did not guess either plot twist at all- totally threw me off! Parts of the book were slow, and not sure at the end of I ended up liking any of the characters. This is pretty dark and twisty in the last 50 pages.

Quick synopsis: Sloane is married to a US senator and undergoes hip surgery. She is placed in the care of a home health aide, Athena, who seems to have nefarious intentions on preventing Sloane from getting better. But is she actually the one who is making Sloane sicker, or is it someone else? Athena starts to have romantic feelings for Sloane's husband, Whit; but not everything is at it seems on the surface.
Oh what a twisty dark take- this one took awhile to get going and into, but the last 25% of the book had me captured. There were two main plot twists that I did not see coming at all, but it did give the villain their comeuppance once all way out in the open. Good book for those who like suspense and thriller books. I appreciated that this was too far off the deep end psychological thriller that others that are marketed as end up being. 3.25 stars

Synopsis: told from two perspectives (Alex and her daughter Lettie), there's a lot of drama in one year on Alton Road. As the year progress, you dive deeper in to past connections, revenge, teenage angst, and a lot of booze. In the end, Alex and Lettie get a satisfied closure at the end, and the secrets of their neighbors are fully revealed.

What a trollop! A perfect book for those who like Desperate Housewives, the Real Housewives, or authors May Cobb and Lucy Foley- there's a lot of neighborhood drama here (some that's a bit over the top). I would list this more as a domestic suspense more than a thriller or psychological drama; it doesn't have strong character development, but that doesn't mean the plot isn't a whirlwind. I found myself quick caught up in the Alex's story right at the beginning of the book. It gets a little slower and stagnant towards the middle third of the book, but things pick back up quickly about 75% through the book- I finished the last portion in one night!
Lettie's story took me a little longer to get into- I just didn't like the writing style of her story as much as Alex's. I also could have done with all the alcohol references for Alex, as I don't think it added much to the story at all; the other neighbors stories were much more interesting. Overall, still felt satisfied with how the book wrapped up, and would read other things by Jamie Day.

Overall, good summer read or for someone who wants to forget their own stress and drama for awhile and get caught up in someone else's.. 3.75 stars.
