Very dark. Very unsettling. It takes a beat to design the atmosphere, but that pays off huge dividends. I'm a fan of the detail out into the story and excited to read more from the genre.

Very stream of consciousness, but I guess it had to be. It's part of the charm. It's very different from what you expect going into it and there are several twists. I went with the audiobook route and it was immersive.
