I really enjoyed this as an introduction to the series as a whole, even if I feel it was maybe a little bit of a slow start. This volume alone didn't grab me, but I feel like it's set up the plot and characters well. The translation was a bit clunky in places but nothing I've not dealt with before. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the series.

Didn't realise this was a sequel but it read well-enough as a standalone. I actually really enjoyed it until the final page which had a very abrupt ending and I feel didn't resolve the story as well as I would have hoped. Maybe that was the point but I was taken aback by turning the page and finding the book had finished.
