Twenty Love Poems and a Song of Despair by Pablo Neruda, W.S. Merwin, Cristina García

Did not finish book. Stopped at 50%.
i've really wanted to read more of Pablo Neruda's poetry after reading "Tonight I Write (The Saddest Lines) which was gorgelicious, but not many of his other poems hit the same for me :( I the book is written in both Spanish and English, and though my Spanish is elementary  I felt like the translation lacked. the only other poem I feel I loved was "The Stolen Branch"

so cute!!! the colors are gorgeous, the outfits are immaculate, and the story warms my soul! it reminded me ne a lot of the (also phenomenal) graphic novel series cucmber quest with it's food themed kingdoms.

her majesty elif batuman back at it again with A BANGER.

I am actually Selin (it is rare that I relate to book characters this much). I often felt like the observations and witticism she made  are similar to how i regard the world but way more efficiently articulated. safe to say that I loved this book and will gobble up anything else written by Ms Batuman

  • I never read mystery but this was actually very good!
  •  definetly was a good book to make into a movie cause the dialogue in the book feels like a movie script.
  • I 🖤 lisbeth salander
  • i feel like I'm probably not gonna read the other books in the series but you never know

my second book on "the tumultuous political climate of Iran" (Layla's English IO 2023)

I can't begin to write about how heart-wrenching, honest, raw, introspective  and informative this graphic novel was for me. it just had so many layers, so many witty quips from the narrator, and subtle symbolism that could be easy to miss.  I honestly might reread it, it's that good.
