This was not for me. I powered through as this is a pick for book club but I do wish I had DNF'd it early on. The writing is trying too hard to be sweeping and emotional. It's telling vs showing. The characters are all so bound up in set personality traits and a lack of communication. Most of them are annoying or unlikeable because of this and that's frustrating. Lastly, this was SO slow. The chapter structure and forced repetition of information really dragged this out longer than necessary.
One positive note I'll give: I do think the book achieves, at least somewhat, illustrating how different people empathize with each other and how we can find connection.
