First time reading a book by [a:S.E. Harmon|8119001|S.E. Harmon|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1648151156p2/8119001.jpg] and to be honest, I thought this book would have been a no go for me. I usually stay clear of 'paranormal'... anything really. After watching a certain movie a few years back, lets just say it affected me. This book was a good read but the characters confused me a little. It did seem that Rain was more into the relationship that what Daniel was, but I'm putting it down to the fact its a 'second chance' novel. I quite enjoyed Ethan's character though. I enjoyed the cheekiness of him and wished he was in more scenes.

The storyline was 'okay' but the twist at the end did shock me a little. I can't say that I wasn't expecting it but it still shocked me when we finally find out who murdered Amy.

I'm nothing if not committed, so I have started to read the second book of this series.

I must say, since my last update about this book, it has been a bit of a rollercoaster! [a:S.E. Harmon|8119001|S.E. Harmon|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1648151156p2/8119001.jpg] has officially won me over and can't wait to have a looky at what else is on offer. This story really ensnared my interest so much I found it difficult to put down.

The character Thomas Kane intrigued me very much and sadly, after my last update, he died :( So I didn't get to learn much more about the criminal mastermind behind the roses. When he came back at the end of the book gave me chills beyond belief! What is going to happen? Is Christiansen able for the serial killer? Have they built that portal on the ley lines in his back garden? So many questions at the end of the book and so glad I'm able to just jump into the next book because I don't think I could handle these unanswered questions if I couldn't.

One thing I must say, FINALLY, our boy Christiansen has pulled his socks up and has seen since. Even though he was questioning his return to the FBI, love overcame. When I started this series, I was questioning the connection between the main characters but obviously, that is not the case now. I like the way they are both sarcastic to each other which makes it feel more 'real' to me because I can relate to that sort of relationship - who doesn't!

Tough titty said the kitty, but the milk's still good was my absolute favourite quote from this book, well done [a:S.E. Harmon|8119001|S.E. Harmon|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1648151156p2/8119001.jpg], well done!

I really enjoyed this series. Throughout the book it clearly shows the progression of the love Rain and Daniel have for each other, after Rain destroyed it by moving to the FBI, showing that second chances can happen. Rain is getting the hang on his abilities but there is always a curve ball thrown at him. Going from just talking to full on attack. He tries to handle his ability and equip himself with both protection and the ability to 'vanquish' unwanted ghosts.

I enjoyed the discussions about the wedding because it so relatable and I can definitely picture my mother-in-law being like that. Rain and Daniel's reaction was spot on and gave me a giggle. I do believe that continuous annoyance about that wedding would be enough to call it off and it almost did.

The humour and action in these novels and this book is written to perfection. You can easily imagine the action that is going on and I can say that I got lost in the book. That is when you know you have a good book!

When the ghost of Hannah come to Rain, she refused to speak which I found odd. But the writer took us down a route that would be believable to this action showing that Hannah was in a Coma, resulting in her inability to do fully ghostly hauntings. She was trying to find Cherry Parker which Rain and Daniel tried to do with the help of their team. Once Cherry is found, alive, everything takes a nasty turn for Rain. Going from trapped in his 'Dream' while is body is taken over by Hannah to murder Cherry. Hannah certainly has an agenda and a list of bodies on her hands.

I will not spoil anymore of this book/series because, I feel it is a must read and I will definitely be reading this again further down the line.
