I think the only reason this wasn’t five stars, is that I really didn’t like how he kept blaming her for most of the book, despite the therapy, and despite starting to come to terms with his own trauma, I feel like he never really forgave her, he just gave her another chance. Other than that, absolutely cried like a baby and loved this.

This felt more like a contemporary fiction book than more romance inclined, but best believe the romance is most definitely there. Second chance romances are absolutely one of my favourite tropes, I just love when people have a story, history, that just builds such a connection filled story. These characters were not perfect, but so many of them were trying their absolute best, the parents, the children, etc.

Please do be aware that this contains several themes that might be triggering for people, such as: depression, loss of a child, still-birth, divorce.

This felt very realistic, raw, and emotional - my perfect type of romance book. I am very excited to read the second book in the series and glad to have found Kennedy Ryan's books.
