The world is not so black and white.... Jonas lives in a "perfect" community where there is no conflict, no emotions, no unemployment, no poverty, no divorce, no change. A "sameness". At the ceremony of 12 a kind of birthday celebration Jonas is chosen to be the receiver of memory. This will be his job for life. A very important job for his community that no one but him and the giver truly know what this entails. This means very hard and painful training for him. This is where he find out the dark side of his community, his family, his whole life. That his black and white perfect world is not what it seems at all. He begins to question things. This ultimately leads Jonas to desire to escape to elsewhere beyond his "perfect community". A place where love, happiness and pleasure exist.

Lowry has done a great job creating a world with realistic and disturbing circumstances in this dystopian teen fiction. Written before it was all the rage. It makes you value the world in which you live. And makes you cherish your ability and freedom to make your own decisions and have your own emotions. Will definitely be reading the rest of this series!

I enjoyed this. I have never read any Norse Mythology before.
Thor and Odin and Loki and all the other gods and goddesses of Asgard. Some interesting stories. I love the concept of these gods and their world. And all the other creatures in it. This was a quick read. I enjoyed the layout. Every chapter is a different story about the gods. I definitely want to read more.

Pretty Fun By Kate Hudson
So I really enjoyed her first book Pretty Happy. This one is about entertaining. Creating memories, and pretty but casual atmospheres for you and your guests. There are some beautiful pictures in here. And for someone who entertains a lot or wants to more this is probably a very helpful book. I did enjoy some of her tips and recipes.

I really enjoyed this one! As a big Harry Potter fan I wasn't sure if I would like this. considering I didn't really enjoy The Cursed Child. But Fantastic Beasts was way better. I liked getting to read about the magical work back in the 20's. And Newt was such a likable character. Plus all his creatures were very interesting.
