The Midnight Library by Matt Haig
5.0
I really enjoyed this book! It starts off a tad slow but then hits the ground running. If you liked the movie, Everything, Everywhere, All at Once, then this book is for you. It does not have the highly fantasy element, but the same themes and ideas are present. This was a book I just randomly picked up one day but loved that I did.
Goodnight Punpun, Vol. 3 by Inio Asano
4.0
This one was a little slower but definitely upper the anti. I'm enjoying that Punpun is out of elementary school and we are hearing more of his voice and getting more information about his views on things. It is becoming much more existential
The Clown Hunt: An Extreme Horror Novel by Judith Sonnet

This was a real surprise. I got really into it and finished it pretty quick. It definitely has its moments and some I was like "oh!" But it does provide a good message and good social commentary.

ARC Review
Wow! This was a fantastic read. I'm really excited I got a chance to read this and give a great review about it!
I've never read extreme violence supernatural, so this was a new stomping ground. I mean what can you say about a book involving a Santa who has a pack with the Devil, who brutalizes his elves and looks for a new Mrs. Claus, an amateur witch who becomes a pawn of the devil in a ritual that ends in bloodshed, young boys who defile satanic grounds and suffer the consequences, nosey neighbors getting what they deserve and a family thrown into complete disarray on Christmas?
Absolutely amazing is what you can say!
An amazing and truly horrifying book.
A must-read for the upcoming holiday season!
This is book four in the Custer Falls series, but the author assured me you don't need to read the others. Any tie-ins are more of easter eggs.

Kage Unleashed by Maris Black

A fantastic sequel to the first novel. The drama really amped up and I loved the developing romance between Jamie and Kage. Can't wait to go onto the third novel!
Kage Unmasked by Maris Black

Loved this trilogy and the ending was great and well deserved. I loved that this trilogy only takes place over like a year and then we reach the ending. I loved watching their relationship develop in various ways through the novels and also their growth and dedication to each other.
Love and Monsters by Max Walker
4.0
I really enjoyed this story. It was a lot of fun going along with Jake and Noah. The only real problem I had was a few inconsistences with the plot towards the end, but they were easy to overlook. Overall, A great start to a short series.
Die For You by Max Walker

This book took the thriller aspect up a notch and actually toned down the spicy parts which (while I do love them) was a nice change of pace. The ending did surprise me but I did get close to figuring out who was responsible.
Overall, this was a fun trilogy and I very much enjoyed these story about the book club boys.

Only Psychos by Daniel J. Volpe
5.0
This book started off a little slow, but once it got started, it took off running. It reads like a classic slasher film with extra gore and detail. You feel bad for some characters you probably shouldn't but their actions make sense. I don't want to say which characters. However, there is a last-minute plot twist that sealed the deal for me to give it 5 stars.
