Such a beautiful series. I’m gobsmacked by the final instalment being just as good as the first two.
Somewhat of a spoiler, but I found the end really satisfying which isn’t always the case for a series.

There’s so much talk surrounding this book, but I wasn’t floored by it. It was a fine read, and the big major twist isn’t totally unpredictable...
For a YA Mystery, it’s definitely more YA than mystery. Maybe it’s not for the more mature mystery fans.

Very much “that’s it?”
There is so much talk about this book that my expectations were admittedly hard to match.
It was a fine YA fantasy read that left me wanting more world building.

This was a bit hard to get into, took me about 150 pages to really start liking it.
A bit of a departure from Jemisin’s other notable works in that it’s set in the present, but it’s still as compelling and thought provoking while building a cool new magic system.

Such a fun big fantasy read!
Sweeping fight scenes, lots of companions travelling across the world, and amazing characters to latch onto.
Can’t wait for the rest of the series, and for the movie/tv show it is sure to inspire.

Absolutely should have stopped with the first book in this “series”, but here we are. This book was worse than the first for me, I’m surprised I managed to finish it.
