The Wolf at the Door by Charlie Adhara
4.75
A little predictable and the character writing could have been tighter, but a fun (and at times eerie) read in an evocative setting. I look forward to learning more about Cooper and Oliver in the next book in the series.
The Spirit Bares Its Teeth by Andrew Joseph White

Fantastic period medical horror read. Difficult to read at times (including due to transphobia, misogyny, ableism, and and secondhand dread; the author supplies a helpful disclaimer at the beginning), but it is clear this book was written with intentionality, which shines through in the characterization. I loved how the author delved into the difficulties of untangling the edges of one's intersectional identity (Silas navigates being both trans and autistic in a world that severely punishes being either, let some both). The audiobook narrator, Raphael Corkhill, was excellent.
"There Are Things I Want You to Know" about Stieg Larsson and Me by Eva Gabrielsson

An understandably righteous read, written simply.

Felt a bit short. While I enjoyed Ned and Crispin, I didn't feel like I had the same chance to fall in love with them like I did with Crane, Stephen, Jonah, or Ben. Having graphomancy fleshed out a bit more was interesting, especially from Crispin's odd (due to his inadvertent warlock training) perspective.
Edit: Changed from a 4.5 to a 4.75 as the related short story, A Queer Trade, scratched all these itches for me!

Colourful Wayuu Bags to Crochet: A guide to making tapestry crochet bags by Riann de Graaf
4.5
This book would have benefited from a pattern editor (a lot of the instructions could have been more clearly stated), but it was nevertheless an interesting read on an interesting group of techniques and product (mochilas wayuu).
Cozy Knits: 30 Hat, Mitten, Scarf and Sock Projects from Around the World by Sue Flanders, Kari Cornell, Janine Kosel

Lovely, complex projects from a smattering of cultures across the globe. I learned about some new techniques, got clarification to some I'd only heard of, and found more to chase down the YouTube knitting rabbit hole.
