I am…severely disappointed in this book. I loved Evil Thing. Loved it. I really enjoyed Cruella’s book, so you can imagine that I was very excited for Ursula’s book. I was excited to read about more Disney villains so when I saw this for sale for $1.99, I bought it up quick.

So…The cover is Ursula…the blurb is about Ursula, the title is a song from Ursula. So how come Ursula barely got any screen time in her own book? I’m glad that Cruella was the first book I read, even though it’s completely out of order, because good lord, if I had read this first…I probably wouldn’t be wanting to read any more.

Because of Evil Thing though, I know there are good books, so I’m willing to give a few more chances. Ursula was overshadowed when she did get screen time, but it was mostly word for word from the movie, the author even put the whole song in there. I wanted a more in depth back story about Ursula. There’s a way to have the focus on one character and have a plot going on that ties all the other books together and this…failed at blending the plot with the story.

The three crazy sisters have their own book, which is before Evil Thing so that’s probably why I didn’t see them in that book, but this felt more like their book than Ursula’s. If Ursula is going to feel like a side character, don’t have her be the focus of everything else. If the three sisters need to be in the stories, make the subtle. Don’t give us a ton of info about them in a book that isn’t even theirs. This makes me worried about the first two books, the one about the Evil Queen and the Beast.

Like I said, I’ll give the other books a fair shot, because I know there could be some really good ones. This one just…didn’t hit the mark for me.

Thank you for reading my review!
