Everything We Keep by Kerry Lonsdale

Quality Read

Loved this story and Kerry Lonsdale's style of writing. Since reading the very first sentence of this book, I was hooked and couldn't wait to begin reading again everytime I had to put the book down. This book won’t be an easy one to put down, as the mystery, love, and loss that swirl around this book will leave you hooked into a world where family secrets can destroy everything, in very unexpected ways. Looking forward to book number two!

I wouldn't say this book is a suspense-thriller, maybe a mystery at best. I never found myself "on the edge of my seat" waiting to see what would happen next (in a suspenseful way that is).

However, King's writing style is something to be worshiped. This was my first book by her and I've already ordered all of her other available books. I'm currently starting, "The Secretary" and am hooked already. -side note

The last few chapters of Room 553 bring the whole story into perspective-and were the most enjoyable! There were no loose ends. Tied up perfectly.

Things I liked about this book: there wasn't pointless descriptions of rooms, houses, characters, etc (ex: the wallpaper was stained yellow and was beginning to peel at the edges), chapters were super short (easier to pay attention), the writing style.

Things I didn't like: the sex descriptions (I can do without, not my kind of reading, I loved 50 Shades of Grey but skipped over all those extra scenes) luckily those parts were short in Room 553.

Things I wished: I wish the book held more suspense/action, but I still enjoyed the storyline. There wasn't ever a time that I had to put the book down, or wanted to stop reading.

With all that, I gave this book 4 stars!

This book was okay. I love that the action begins right away. I guessed the ending - for the most part. But that doesn't ruin a book for me.

Honestly, I finished this book so long ago that I can't remember what I really liked and didn't like. I know I enjoyed listening (audiobook) to it.

Not sure what all the hype was about? I must have missed something .. don't get me wrong the story is interesting, interesting enough to keep me reading until I finished it, however I think it was King's writing that got me through...

I was expecting more action, less chit-chat.. good ending for the most part. Still wondering who was Kate? and what happened to her? I'm assuming an old friend of Josie's before she joined the "church" and was forced to leave her old life behind.

It was interesting to see the two perspectives of Josie's life play out. Life isn't always what you think it is for someone else.

I don't get excited when an ending of a book is good. It should be IMO. With a twist I either see or half see or don't see at all coming. We can always assume King will never have us guessing right and that's what I love about her books. However, a great ending isn't all I'm looking for in a story - which is why I give this book 4 stars!

Skipping book 2 in this series for now (I will get back to it) and starting "HER."

Samantha Downing just became a new fav author and David Pittu my narrator. I thought this book was brilliant with an amazing twist and he (Pittu) made the story come alive. **SPOILER** I wasn’t sure where Downings was going with the cheating husband, but wow, perfect revenge. Goes to show even when you’re a scorned lover be careful your revenge doesn’t become your own downfall. Love everything about this book.

I listened to the audiobook of this and didn't read it.

I remember reading a review that said, "if you like fked up shit, you'll love this book," and all I have to say is: this is one fked up story and I loved every minute of it.

Psycho meets psycho meets psycho... and what do you get when you add that all up? A bunch of fked up people doing a bunch of fked up things ...

Many people may find Sadie weak, but characters can't all be perfect. It's who her character is. Characters are characters, nothing more nothing less. I enjoy the story for the story, so I give it 5 stars.

I enjoyed this book. I kept wondering where it was all going, and once again I was totally wrong. All my theories and I still wasn't close.

It's truly frightening how mental health used to be viewed and the "treatments" they came up with. Mix that with a missing family and a "crazy" wife and you've got yourself one frightening mystery. Is Grace really crazy? Did she really kill her family? Does she really belong there? Or is she really innocent? Didn't kill her family and doesn't belong there? Or a little of both? You will have to read to find out!

5 stars.

Book hooked me and kept my attention until the very end. A good little mystery with one adventurous main character. It really is the final hunt; you just have to read to see why.

I will defiantly be reading more books by this author! 4 stars (only because I prefer my books to have that psychological edge)

Dexter meets You.

It took me a few chapters to get into this book, but glad I stuck it out. Such a great read! Dark psychological thriller.

As usual, couldn't have guessed the ending. If you love BK's other books, you'll love this one. Twisted! 5 stars

Once again, BK hit it riiiight out of the park! I enjoyed this book so much that once I started reading it I didn't stop until the book was over! I rarely ever do that (even with the best of books).

This book wasn't to much of a mystery as it was a thriller - although, it does make you wonder about a few things along the way. Never a dull moment - a must read for BK fans and those new to her work.

Dark and twisted, per usual, a fantastic read.
