I love Noir, and I really love the old time detective vernacular. But, I couldn't shake William Powell and Myrna Loy's voices in my head as I read it.

So much to love about this book. But the writing itself got me hooked. The twists and turns will keep you from putting it down.

Ok, so this may be an unfair review. I jumped into this after reading a fantastic book when I should have given it a time buffer. But, that being said, she could have worked anywhere in retail, the draw for me was the coffee angle and it was hardly even touched on. It bounced around a bit too much, and the finale, well, it didn't really work.

That was great. Swashbuckling brought to the 21st century. Edge of your seat action. Captain Roy is my new favorite fictional character!

Well that's 2 for 2 for Kalli Kaur Jaswal. Surprises, emotions, and twists abound. But I warn you, there are things that are gonna make you incredibly angry.

I've read and enjoyed all of Cristina Garcia's other books and was really looking forward to this. The style caught me off guard and it took me a while to adjust. But the stories kept me interested, although at times depressed.

Yrsa always gets a 5 from me. I never get the culprit right and she is so good at concealing it until the very end. These books are disturbing, but I can't look away.
Love's Naked Nature by Greg Bowdish

That was just fantastic. Knee slapping hilarious moments, an unexpected romance, and irreverence without being preachy. I got lost in this book, so much going on, rooting for the wonderfully portrayed characters, hoping all would work out in the end. Thank you for this book Greg Bowdish. Bawr Chicka Bawr Rawr!
