This book brought back haunting memories, leaving me full of sorrow. But then, I fought back and obliterated any sadness that tried to creep its way back into my mind.
Reading stories like these, with triggering topics & storylines, can be very very difficult...... but.....
I will never let the evil things in my past win. I choose to fight them head on. I will be triumphant!
I AM TRIUMPHANT!!!

Sadly, I don’t read a lot of short story collections.... and I think I need to change that, especially if there are more collections like this one.
I thought this collection was EXCEPTIONAL!!
I loved every single story.
This is my first time reading any of Brian Hodge’s work and I am very intrigued!!! I must read more.

Side note: I listened to the audiobook of Skidding into Oblivion and thought the narrator, David Bendena, did a phenomenal job.

Also, I enjoyed this collection SO MUCH, I went and purchased a physical copy. That way it can have a place on my “Favorites” shelf.

If you like cosmic horror, weird fiction, horror fiction or mind-bending stories that make you think....READ THIS BOOK!!

Wow!!!! This short story is jam PACKED with greatness! It baffles me how someone can write such an awesome story in less than 50 pages.
Top notch from the very beginning to the very end.

I can’t wait to check out more of Roger’s works.

My Pretties by Jeff Strand

This was my 6th Jeff Strand book and he has yet to disappoint. The thing I love so much about all of the books I’ve read so far, is the humor. There’s so many funny moments throughout the book. Gore and humor.....does it get any better?....
Well, yes, yes it does. The female characters in My Pretties, are some bad ass women!

Discovering Jeff Strand has been so refreshing and it’s got me wanting to spend less time online and more time reading books, his books. If anyone wonders where I am, I’ll be over here binge reading all of Strand’s books.

I really enjoyed the heck out of this book. Coming-of-age horror stories are always fun to read. What happens when you take young-love, best buddies and malicious bullies and then add in  a serial killer on the loose, creatures hanging around the town’s forest and the “storm of the century” barreling down on you.....??? I’ll tell you what you get........You get ONE HELL OF AN INTENSE story!!!!! There was a magnitude of savagery when everything collided. I nearly found myself hyperventilating over the intensity of it all.
But.......wait!!!! Just when you’ve calmed yourself down, and think “okay, it’s over.” ....IT’S NOT!!! You’re left there with this ambiguous ending!!! It’s madness, I tell ya! ABSOLUTE MADNESS!! AND I NEED MORE!

And THAT, my friends, is what happens when you’ve just read a kick ass book.

This is only the second book I’ve read by Janz, and I CAN NOT wait to read more.
