I want to say like a 4.4 but it was all around incredible. I think law school ruined reading to a certain point. I shouldn’t be floating legal concepts while reading and to some that could make it more enjoyable but I just was avoiding law while reading — just to see so much of it.

Groveling men feel like a fantasy but alas here we are haha love Ali H. Such interesting characters, love the stories and the extra people are so rich in character and add to the plot.

Hands down one of the best books I have ever read. I finished it and immediately felt like I suffered a loss. It was like sitting passenger side to the greatest heist that ever was. The movie that played in my head deserves an Oscar. The clutch this had on me was relentless. I would serve a warrant on anyone who read this book and didn’t tell me about it. If I could tab every page I would, just so emotionally provoking without it feeling like I have time to cry since it’s so fast paced. I lost my ability to compare it to anything else.

I never wanted it to end. 10/10, no notes.

I also feel like it’s not enough to speak highly about this book. I need to write a dissertation on the despair and desperation poverty breeds. It’s a grueling read for someone far removed from it but it’s just the point as well.

This was sooooo good, but I also feel like....how does Hannah Bonam Young have time to make these really intricate, overlapping plots work.
