The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller

Madeline Miller is a wonderful storyteller. Recalling of Greek mythology is not easy, but she has made some new and poignant. I will not call this a tragic love story, I see it only as memories retold and names never forgotten. This book of definitely for those who have felt unseen, but in reality have touched more souls than one can count. And for any love that has been diminished by other, this is also for you.

3.75 out of 5, but I rounded

This book was such a delight with a very needed light shone on domestic and child abuse. It wasn't what I expected. But for some reason I felt like it needed more. I like the balance of romance and those dark moments , but I do wish it had little more of Ruben and Cherry past it there. That scene with rubens past was well written and I could have dine with those passages scattered throughout to make more of an impact than the BOOM you get 2\3 in. Overall a great read from Talia Hibbert as always!

Predictable but still good

This book was giving for the girls.I will say the writing was here and there. There would bee times where I felt like it was corny, others when it was repetitive, and times where the language took me out of the fantasy. Now I clocked the ending from page 247 and I was RIGHT! But nonetheless, it was really good!and of course I will need to read the second and I hope to the "Gods" it ends how I hope it would for the theme of the book.

PS, I skipped the bathe house scene it waz too much sauce for me chile.

All Rom Come Take Note

Where do I begin?!?!? First off, I can best describe this world of fantasy as Ella Enchanted vibes and I LOVE Ella Enchanted. I like fantasy where there is a mix of old and modern. They talk like us but throw in some old timey phrases and some nachos and you have a great concoction for dialogue and comedic relief.

This book had me cackling!!!! Lemmings knows how to get a chuckle even in between the sweet bits. If you are looking for a light hearted read this is for sure for you! Also if you are worried about the pacing, since this is a shorter book, don't. Sometimes all the extra stuff is just that, and this book doesn't need it! This might be a go to pick em up for future reads!

This book is such a special one. I love a story within a story. And I also love “what lies beyond the surface” kind of story. This was emotional with ups/downs/lefts/rights you name it. But, it is a phenomenal piece with so much culture. 4.75. I wish we got a little more of Canon POV.

4.5 ⭐️

This is a classic early 2000s rom com that I used to watch. It has depth, comedy (the bathroom date scene is stellar!), and great supporting characters. The whole time I was reading it I could picture it on a movie screen, which is such a feat tbh. This was the first book that I devoured in 24 hours in a long time. Rom Com will do it every-time!

Also anyone that can do two parallel stories in one has my heart. I can’t wait to read the others!

The Black Romance I Needed

I have not read much black on black romance, but omg this book has shown me all the things I have been missing. The honesty, humor, references, all of it was just amazing. The spice is spicing okay!!!! Now I don't like a miscommunication trope but this was so satisfying and scrumptious that it honestly didn't matter, plus it was also a huge scar on both personalities of the characters. Anyway read this book!

It was stagnant from the jump with mini climaxes. The conflict and resolution were intermingling that just made me so mad. Took me a long time to get through this one
