Entranced by the Basilisks by Lillian Lark

As per usual, Lillian Lark made me fall in love with the coziest cinnamon roll monster babies
Sing Me to Sleep by R.M. Virtues

Was expecting demon smut and I got catharsis?? Was not expecting to enjoy it as much as I did. My own sleep paralysis is slightly less horrifying now.

Holy fucking god.
Eerie, dreamlike and devastating. My heart is absolutely shredded in thirty pages and I would have read three-hundred just to torture myself a bit longer.
Full of gorgeous, lyrical prose and quotable snippets, but only one brought me to tears:
"They will never sing my name."

Written with the pensive poeticism of a recalled dream — hazy, haunting, and familiar.
"And you don’t feel something alive in books? Haven’t you ever felt the kiss of fabled winds brush across your face?" Lęina whispered. "Haven’t you ever found yourself floating in a infinite space?"

A witty voice, immersive world, compelling story and charming characters. I love Ellie as a main character + her healthy, supportive relationships with her family and friends.

Poignant, honest, and expertly crafted.
"I have been woman
for a long time
beware my smile
I am treacherous with old magic
and the moon’s new fury
with all your wide futures
promised
I am
woman
and not white.

What a Match by Mimi Grace

My favorite by Mimi Grace so far. Cozy, sweet, & funny with characters that felt real to life and a setting that had just a touch of nostalgic whimsy — the perfect autumn romcom
What the Dead Know by Nghi Vo

A gorgeous, quintessential gothic with a smart voice. Its only flaw being that it was entirely too short; this had potential for a full novel.
