"Maps are love letters written to times and places their makers explored. They did not control the territory, they told its stories." This book was a book club selection from a podcast I listen to called "The Bible Binge." Part of the podcast is public, but the book club portion is behind a paywall. This book was a departure from what we usually read, and it was delightful. Who knew maps could be so exciting! It was part magical realism and part mystery/suspense. The story is told both in real time and through flash backs from different characters/perspectives. The story builds in tension and suspense, some of it was rather predictable, but other parts were not, and either way it didn't take away from the storytelling, which was wonderful.
