I loved what it was saying, but felt it was too short. Like it just skipped to everything and didn't get enough time to live with the side characters,

specifically the best friend. She should have had the biggest impact on the main character in this story, but it wasn't as much of an impact for me because she only flitted in and out of the story a few times.
