Not one of her best books in my opinion and not something I would read again or recommend.

I love diving into these stories and learning things you didn't know, things that aren't in the movies.

For example, I met Winky, another house elf (she serves the Crouch family, that is until Mr Crouch let's her go after she is found with Harrys wand in the forrest at the Quiddich World cup and it seems his wand had made the large calling sign for you know who.) We then find out Winky is a free elf and works in the kitchen at Hogwarts with Dobby who gets paid although Winky is not happy to be free, like at all.

I didn't know Dobby worked in the kitchens at Hogwarts or that It was actually Dobby who gave Harry the gillyweed after hearing a staged conversation by moody.

Harry gives all his winnings from the Triwizard Tournament to Fred and George to start their sweet shop. Fred and George couldn't get their money back from Ludo Bagman even though they won a bet with him at the woeld cup. It seems Mr Bagman is very much in debt and apparently owes a few others.

We got to see a bit more of Sirius and learned that Mr Crouchs son switched places with his mother at Askaban using polyjuice potion and it was his mother who died as she was dying anyway but everyone believed it to be Barty.

Unfortunately, it really dragged towards the end, and I found myself scanning and not caring about the plot or the characters. If I'm honest, it was very nearly a DNF.

I have no idea why this book is so large and honestly I've never been so disappointed, I love this series but this book has taken far too long to read or get into. It feels like a complete drag. It takes the entire book for any real action and I do mean the entire book!
Slade and Auren still aren't even reunited which really pees me off.

An enjoyable read I liked the characters, especially Wren and Julian and the twists throughout the story, although I did correctly guess a lot of what would happen. I will definitely be reading the next one.
