A fun horror novel for those who love Buffy and But I’m a Cheerleader. I fully expected for the plot to go in a different direction but I’m glad I was wrong! Loved it.

This was a beautiful read. The art style, the pace, the honesty. As a cis woman I feel such a kinship with Maia simply for our love of fandom, but now I feel like I understand em (and folks who use those pronouns) better. Thank you for your vulnerability Maia, you’re making a huge difference.

This is probably one of the strangest books I’ve ever read. A really interesting concept but confusing at times I feel like there’s a lot of things I missed or didn’t understand while reading. That doesn’t mean I wouldn’t recommend it, I would just preface that you’re in for a strange ride.

I finished this book in less than 24 hours. It’s an engaging, honest reflection of a queer Muslim person. The connections between her experience and the experiences of people in the Quran were beautifully woven together and had me thinking about my own regions upbringing and teachings. As a white queer woman who was raised Catholic (non practicing) I found myself connecting with her ways I didn’t think possible. This is a book I will read and reread for years to come.  Thank you Lamya.

An absolutely amazing, unique, awe inspiring read. The characters are so rich in their depth, the amount of research is incredible, and the storytelling makes this hard to put down.

A cozy, easy mystery novel to break up some of the hard hitters I’ve read recently. Follows all the basic tropes but as a record fan it was an extra joyful experience to read about the family’s record store.
