This book took so long that it could've just been 300 pages. The story dragged on that it had too many plots where you could not even focus on the main characters. The mains were so childlike that they annoyed the shit out of me, making me want to DNF this book altogether.

I don't even want to talk about this book anymore, not worth my time and effort to think about the characters and their idiocy and helplessness act.

TRIGGER WARNINGS: DOMESTIC ABUSE, RAPE, GASLIGHTING, VIOLENCE
I didn't know that this was gonna be so heartbreaking, I was so taken off guard by this book that half of the story was so brutal about how Iris and Caleb are in a relationship. This was sometimes uncomfortable to read along with it making me anxious and stunned at times.

When it comes to the characters and writing, Kennedy didn't hold back. She truly knows how to make it so raw and traumatic by making it so graphic in everything about a toxic and abusive relationship. Iris was so strong despite it all and I'm so proud of her along with Lo by being there with her. I love the word hopscotch! and how it was used in the story. To be honest, sometimes my mind can't handle it anymore in where I had to take a break or I might just cry for hours.

Kennedy really did a phenomenal job when it comes to the book, I loved how she did her research about this topic and the messages at the end, I love that too!

I really liked how it was written in Tyler's pov which made it more enjoyable since most of the books are usually in the girl's pov so it's nice to see it from a different view. When it comes to the plot, it is not really that special nor did it stick to me yet I still had fun while reading.

I'm trying to say casual things about the book but let's be honest, this was hot as fuck, and Tyler, my gosh the nicknames and his way of thinking... I cannot, this was so good!!

To be honest I was having a hard time reading throughout the whole book maybe for the reason of the main character's monologue that annoyed the shit out of me while reading.

I understand that she is literally obsessed with him but there is no need to remind me every goddamn stanza. That use of my arrow along with I know him better than them is so repetitive throughout the book. The reason why I still continued reading was that maybe her craziness over him would lessen though apparently it just got worse and more annoying. Salem was literally one of Archer's groupies so maybe that's one of the reasons why I didn't like it along with the longing that she had towards him that made her act so recklessly and childlike.

I understand that Salem was not loved nor cared for by her sister and her sister mentioned that she was a disgrace to the family that may be made Salem act the way she was throughout the story nevertheless I just don't like the way she thinks. This was just not for me...

“I believe in you. In us. Regardless of what happens, you will always be the best partner I’ve ever had. You’ll always be the hardest working person I’ve ever known. There will only ever be you.”

Ahhhhh, this was so good! MZ just does it well with her romances, Jasmine's character was so relatable, and the way she was portrayed grew on me every chapter. I adored her so much and with her attitude toward Ivan, AHHH I LIVE FOR IT!!

I related to Jasmine in so many ways that when it was mentioned in the book, I would call it out and say that is what I do and how I act since I'm the opposite of a bubbly happy person or whatever you call them. Jasmine is literally my comfort character and she always will be. I LOVE JASMINE!!

Anyways, moving toward the story, I think it was evident that Ivan liked her since he was always watching her and that counts as something. Also, I wonder if the reason why Ivan treated her that way is for the reason that Jasmine treated him at the beginning like shit and I just know he liked her even if she treated him like that.
Like he just needs to keep up you know?!

The banter between the two of them was always on point along with them arguing for no reason?! Now that's entertaining and enthralling. When they started being friends which I adored very much, that was when it truly showed that Ivan did care for her, and him just being there always made my heart warm. It's always the little things that truly mattered and there were so many!!

I could rant about how much I adore them both for as long as I could. That just shows how much I love them and enjoy everything that they did together with their funny witty conversations including their banter and hilarious comebacks.

“I love you so much I spend all day with you, and it still isn’t enough for me,”

My overall thoughts about them...

I enjoyed it but there were some moments that I didn't like nevertheless I think this was so fun and cute making it an easy fast read. When it comes to the characters, I adored Hallie and Lucy with their energetic bubbly persona which I know their kids, yet it was done well and it made every interaction with them adorable.

The romance though between Dex and Winnie is fine maybe because they were so attracted to each other at the beginning that I knew they were going to hook up in less than a day. Maybe if there was a build-up, now that would have added a lot of tension between them, not that there wasn't.

Tbh I'm just here for the fun moments between them all and anything that has a single parent trope with grumpy sunshine? I'm in.

“Your love life should bring you, love. If it doesn't, no matter how hard you try, if you are honest and fair and good, and you decide it's over and you need to go find love somewhere else, then...what more can the world ask of you?”

When it comes to marriages, there would be hardships that you'll encounter, and here you understand more about why some relationships don't work out. The struggles couples face with the resentment that comes along with it. With Ryan and Lauren, there was no compromise when it comes to their daily activities where you could see that they started to tolerate one another instead of discussing the conflicts that annoyed them. Compromise and communication are key to having a healthy relationship. There are more values though when it comes to making the relationship work yet without the two, it'll be a struggle.

" Second, third, and hundredth chances
     Balancin' on breaking branches"
                         - exile

This was so beautifully written in a way some chapters made me teary... The highlight was probably Ryan's letter draft.

" I just wanted you to know
That this is me trying "
         - this is me trying

When they were apart, you could truly see how it was hard for them, in the beginning, to function without thinking about their beloved spouse. When you're so used to being with them all the time then suddenly not being with them for an entire year is truly a difficulty for both of them. Weeks turn into months and they still think about each other but it lessens throughout the story.

Growth, that's what happened to them. They start to be their own person. They looked back on what they did wrong and start to understand more about how to make their relationship work. Now, they know what to do and what not to do... Hopefully, they stick to it.

In the end, they finally know if they still want to be with each other and if they don't then maybe there would be closure and peace by the end of their one-year agreement.

Not bad I suppose, since I had a good time—making it a quick read to finish it in a few hours.

It was definitely fun to see how the relationship between the two mains developed throughout the story though the ending was hastily written along with coming a bit cliche with the conflict in the ending other than that, there’s nothing to complain about.

Just know what you’re getting yourself into when reading along with checking the trigger warnings.
