" to think a monster could hate so passionately could love so profoundly shook my very existence. "
A mysteriously forbidden haunting romance that dwells on magic, and strange folklore, with the obscurity of haunting tales. It is a beautifully written story in a whimsical poetic way of showcasing a paranormal romantic aspect of love with regard to a dark, tense atmosphere.
" Everything I'd known I questioned, and everything I was, I was no more. It was her, always, Every time. "
This story's magnetic pull will captivate your attention with a concept of a mythical town, its atypical set of characters, and its hidden magic. A phenomenal way how everything was crafted with all the unfolding aspects that it has throughout the book.
“ She was everything I wasn’t, yet looked at me—to me—as if we were stitched by the same string. ”
The relationship between the characters Fallon and Julian was both hauntingly heartbreaking but also beautifully comforting despite the hardships, loss, and pain that they experienced. I love how their relationship blossomed through everything that happened and how they helped, protected, and cared for one another along the way.
Fallon as a character is someone who is the odd one out, the one who always didn't belong due to the peculiar traits that she has. Julian has the same characteristics as Fallon due to the curse with the hollow heathens. Julian was the black sheep in town because of the history of his family and his coven. Both their characters are alike in how they saw each other in themselves and that's one of the reasons why they both caught each other's attention in the first place.
Overall, this was a very poetic haunting love story.
This is a fast-paced little mermaid retelling with a dark and more sinister atmosphere and plot. The premise intrigued me and I was here for the vibes and adventure throughout the story. This also has a wholesome found family friend group with great banter and witty comebacks between the characters.
For a standalone fantasy, I was entertained, transfixed, and hooked by the adventure of the characters. I was here for the cunning, vile, and resilient main character Lira and how she handled every situation. This is not a very descriptive story with its action for it being fast-paced, despite that it delivered what it was supposed to deliver.
This is an intense thrilling adventure with its portrayal of vulnerability, darkness, and authenticity of the hard life of a pirate. It's a dark uncharted territory between anti-heroes and villains with many action-packed escapades and an enticing storyline with so many twists and turns as the story progresses.
A very graphic story with a dark gruesome atmosphere with the danger at every step as the unexpected happens hooked me in the very beginning. So much violence, strength, and ruthlessness shown by the characters on how they felt about their circumstances made me root them throughout the story. This was indeed such a rollercoaster of emotions on how tense and troubled every action was led with its outcome.
An intense addicting college romance with a dark atmospheric background, with lots of tension, spice, and possessiveness between the two characters throughout the book.
Jeremy is an alluring type of man that is needed by me. He is an enigmatic, hot-headed guy, very protective of those he cares about, and has a soft side with being caring, thoughtful and passionate in his own twisted way. Cecily is the type of woman that is strong, independent, and selfless to all. She has a heart of gold and cares for everyone despite some not deserve that type of care. She's also a reader who likes to stay at home having some alone time and wears statement shirts everywhere she goes.
I love the dynamic between Jeremy and Cecily and how their personalities fit and complement each other in a captivating intense way. Jeremy who worships everything Cecily does especially her love for books is amazing to see. Jeremy being a softy despite the threats he has to Cecily's love for fictional characters is funny as hell.
I love this couple so damn much, I wish I could read this for the first time again!
A fun, thrilling dark college romance that involves two characters with opposites attraction, a dominant protective love interest, and an addictive storyline.
Creighton and Annika are the main characters, wherein Creighton is assertive, and possessive with so much coldness and barely talks to anyone, In contrast, Annika is the opposite of him being the bubbly, happy, caring person she is.
I love the amazing portrayal of their character development as the story progressed which was so captivating to see especially how they became true to themselves on who they truly are.
As always, this was a thrilling intense read with the high stakes, tension, and angst of the characters. The twists and turns throughout the whole book made me on the edge of my seat with anticipation of what was going to happen next.
So many mixed emotions that this book made me feel such as sadness, curiosity, unease, and exasperation with the circumstances that both the main characters, Jack and Evangeline had stumbled upon. The realization in the end nearly killed me of how everything turned out.
This story involves healing from a past relationship that meant something very special to you but looking back, realizing that relationship wasn't healthy, to begin with. A slow-burn romance about painfully moving on to heal and focus on self-growth but also falling in love again in a new sense of light. The type of love that is warm, bright, and safe that feels like home.
" Being around her is like breathing in the air right before it rains. It's fresh and comforting. That's the only way I know how to describe it. "
This tackles friendships, family relationships, healthy communication, growth, and maturity in dealing with certain circumstances despite being at odds with something you can't control of. It perfectly presents the healthy stages of moving on from a past love with how the hardships were dealt with. A book filled with beautiful writing and aspirations from work, family, and friends.
Our main character Nina is a grumpy heroine but is soft-hearted to those she cares about. She is loyal, compassionate, selfless, and someone you can count on. Jackson is the love interest that is the ball of sunshine to the grumpy heroine that is Nina. He is the kindest, sweetest, and most passionate with everything he does and you can't help but admire and fall in love with his character. He brings out the best in everyone while being very supportive, caring, patient, and considerate of others. Two characters with the healthiest relationship despite the hardships that they faced.
This was truly an amazing re-read with me falling in love again with the character's wonderful personalities. A big warm hug and something I'll always reread to bring comfort and just because I love this book so damn much!
This is a thrilling dark college romance that represents dark themes that may be sensitive to others. A story with an addicting intense chemistry between two characters, with lots of tension, and vile actions that were acted upon throughout the book.
The main character Glyndon is a college student that is an artist who struggles with mental illness. She is closed-off and guarded with her feelings and doesn’t share the burden she feels, she is compassionate and supportive with her love ones as well as being self-sufficient and creative with her work. The love interest Killian is a obsessed, manipulative, smart and cold person. He represses the need to kill and hurt people with his own gain, to maintain control of his mind. He likes to torment people just for fun as well being cold, ruthless and remorseless.
This has an amazing friend group despite the other friends being literally psychopaths. Friends who has great humor and witty-ass comebacks as well as the great dynamic of how they all fit in the friendship. They also have a fun and safe atmosphere regardless of the intensity and cruel conditions they’ve been. The other characters that were introduced with possible romance storylines made me intrigue of their stories and characters more.
To conclude, I was very hooked and addicted to this whole book despite me being surprised of how intense it is, in the beginning. Lastly, it definitely has a great buildup of the intention of the characters and how well thought of on how everything took place.
This book had a great opening since it captured my interest from the beginning. This is all about feeling remorse, afraid of opening up, a sense of loss or doubt in oneself especially in expressing on how you really feel on a certain someone.
The dynamic between the characters were always in sync with their feelings with each other and it shows how they truly knew one another despite them being dismissive and acting nonchalant most of the time whenever they were together. Full of longing, anger and frustration with their situation that continues to worsen due to them not communicating. To be honest, they were just afraid to communicate their feelings with each other that resulted in them not being together in the first place.
I liked their thoughts and opinions in certain things though I felt that there was something missing and that was them being seen together more. The two main characters expressed that they both knew each other well but there were certain moments that lacked that understanding between them along with the flame and tension about the conflict.
The side characters were barely introduced with their background and it felt forced with the interactions. I actually wanted to know more about the little details in their work, publishing and their interest and it lacked that. There were some circumstances that felt dull and repetitive with the past and present days that made it obviously known if it was present or past day if they hate or like each other.
Overall this was such a intriguing and entertaining read!
This a story about life choices and the people that you meet and how you affect them. A concept about heartbreak, loss, regrets and harships in life that you look back on once you're in heaven. The reason why everything happened in the first place and how it is all connected.
I think this is such an inspiring and thought-provoking read on what happens after a person dies. A sorrowful outcome because a person died but it doesn't end there, but it's just a new beginning for them to learn and experience on what their life was and full meaning behind it when their in heaven.
I do think this is a otherworldly pathway with the five people you'll meet in heaven that will give new meaning about your life decisions and how those changes affects other people and how it'll change their life for the better or worse. This is just sad bitter end with a new outlook in heaven.
