ARE YOU SERIOUS?!
This was SUCH a delight! I absolutely adored everything about this!
The story, the characters, the love story - all of it!

This was my firsy book by Katie Van Brunt and it absolutely will not be my last!
Her writing was so bingable and enjoyable! I DEVOURED this in two sittings and would have probably done one if possible.

Ezra and Millie are just everything! Their banter was absolutely top tier. The chemistry was DRIPPING off the page. The tension was BUILTTTTT. I loved how Ezra just wanted her to feel as beautiful as he saw her. I loved the body positivity. Ezra is so emotionally available and vulnerable that you CANNOT HELP but fall for him. Millie is probably the most relatable character I've ever read - She's bisexual, has always envisioned herself marrying a woman but is starting to wonder and struggle with what she really wants AND she's struggling with body image after some weight gain. MY GIRL. I just wanted to go have drinks with her. She sounds like a great time.

It was probably one of the best fake marriage books I have read. I feel like they normally all follow the same plot line, but this one was different and I enjoyed that!

KANE. I love Kane. I just wanted to hug him the entire time. I really just loved everything about this.

OH AND the spice is literal perfection. Sometimes spice can be awkward, overdone, out of place, etc. etc. etc. but this has none of that! It was well done. It was HAWTTTTTT.

Truly my favorite parts were the body image, bisexual representation, emotional vulnerability from a MMC and just the characters overall. YOU LOVE THEM. You immediately fall for them and root for them from page 1. My least favorite part? when it ended. Why'd you have to do that Katie. Couldn't it just be never ending? LOL

You'll find:
-Fake Marriage
-Forced Proximity
-Only One Bed
-Adoption
-Found Family
-Men's Mental Health Rep
-Bi FMC
-Teacher x Spicy Audio Narrorator

That's it. That's everything. Just go read the book, immediately. like the SECOND it comes out.

I can definitely say I didn’t see that coming. Frieda’s books are always there to get me out of a slump, and this one was no exceptions. While i can say i enjoyed the book as a whole it definitely wasn’t a favorite by her.

The FMC annoyed me the entire book. I hoped that she’d come back around at some point and her annoyance would make sense or there’d be growth or literally anything redeeming but i just hated her 😆

I didn’t like the ending, it felt unfinished. I don’t know if that was purposely or not, but i just wanted things to be tied up better. Also there was SO MUCH repetition of the same phrases and words. I did listen to this book via audio, so it didn’t bother me as much but I think it would have drove me crazy digitally or physically.

Overall, it was good. I’d tell you if you’re a Frieda fan to definitely read it, but definitely wasn’t my favorite.

First & Foremost listen to the audiobook! I will always stand by listening to the author tell their own story is the best wait to digest memoirs. You really get an extra level of emotion this way!

As someone who’s the same age as Jojo and listened to her music her entire career, i have always loved her. Hearing her story and the struggles she had broke my heart.  She truly deserved so much more and I feel like this happens so much for children in the industry. They just need someone who understands the industry but will also be their deepest advocate.

I loved her use of her song lyrics throughout the book, and i just loved her growth she’s had. I’ll continue to be a fan & follow her on whatever journey comes next.

I really just had the best time with this story! I had the digital copy sitting on my kindle for MONTHS & then opened the audio and I was immediately captivated. I loved the plot of the story and the characters!

I loved watching our FMC come to the realization that she wanted a different life for herself and she took her life by the reigns and tried to make it happen for herself. I think it’s also such a good lesson for aspiring authors to learn - that a million nos don’t matter if that one yes is coming.

Our MMC made me love him and hate him and i still don’t know even i like him 😅 but the strong feelings still ilicited me to be tied super strongly to the story.

I would definitely recommend the audio for this one! I’m not sure why but overall it was super enjoyable!

You’ll find:
-He falls first
-Aspiring Author / Agent
-Workplace Romance
-Ghost writing trying to break away
-HUGE grand gesture

I would def recommend this to my peers & would be interested in reading more by this author!

Overall this was a super enjoyable read. I had a lot of fun getting to know Raffael and May and watching their love grow. Overall, their chemistry and love story was enjoyable to read and watch grow. Their chemistry jumped off the page.

I had a few small tweaks with the book that i wasn’t super happy about, but it didn’t take away from the overall enjoyment of the story.
I wanted more growth from the story - if you’re wanting an easy, fluffy romance which not too much deep side to it. This will absolutely be your book, i just think i wanted more depth. That doesn’t make the book, bad, i just hoped for more!
I also wasn’t super fond of the 3rd act conflict. It felt a bit unnecessary for me, i understand her being spooked due to her ex and the way he handled things, but it wasn’t even Raffael who told her, it was someone else. idk 🤷🏼‍♀️

You’ll find:
-Hate to Love
-Enemies To Lovers
-Forced Proximity
-Small Town Romance
-Roommates
-Grumpy / Sunshine
-Age Gap

Overall, i would absolutely recommend this book and book 1 in the series especially if you’re looking for something quick, fun and light!

Daisy and Raff are honestly just everything 🖤🥹

This story is slow, but in the absolute best way possible. They needed slow. They needed the laughs and the build up. It makes the outcome so much better.

As someone who suffers from chronic headaches due to my diagnosis and has suffered with body imagine my entire life, I felt absolutely so connected to Daisy. She was such a relatable character that I feel like SO MANY of us can relate too. The migraines were depicted perfectly and the struggles with finding onsets and triggers was spot on.

Raff was the perfect single dad / book boyfriend mix and i couldn’t get enough of him. He was respectful, sexy, and CHERISHED the group Daisy walked on.

I haven’t read the other books in the series and i still enjoyed this deeply, but I also will be going back and reading the rest of the series!

Cal was absolutely perfect. I adored the little man, and the fact that him choosing that little town was all a big set up was perfect.

I love a single dad romance that isn’t him falling for his nanny, and this second chance, it’s always been you single dad romance was 🤌🏼🤌🏼🤌🏼😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨

Finally, Roe & Daisy’s friendship was one of my favorite parts of the book. Their banter was absolutely perfect and reminded me of me and my best friend.

You’ll find:
💐 Florist / Firefighter
🔥 Childhood Friends to Lovers
💐 It’s Always Been You
🔥 Second Chance (ish) - They lost touch for a decade or so
💐 Small Town Romance
🔥 Single Dad
💐 (super, but perfectly) Slowburn
🔥 Dual Timeline
💐 Letters

SO BASICALLY i loved it, i had a great time, & this is def going to end up being an author i consistently return to! ABSOLUTELY go read it! 👏🏼 🖤

ohhhhh this was fun.

Is the outcome predictable from page 1? YEP. Did it ruin or hinder the joy along the way? NOPE.

This is such a fun, funny, and cute romance of two people falling in love without even really realizing it! I loved the idea of a romance author trying to ‘ruin romance’ for him one trope at a time.

It was really cute, but also the banter was bantering. I was laughing, giggling, swooning and having the best time ever page.

the narration was really well done and added to the overall story for me.

You’re gonna find SO MANY tropes here:
📖 One Night Stand
📕 Friends to Lovers
📖 Grumpy / Sunshine
📕 He Falls First
📖 Elevator Meet Cute
📕 Dual 3rd person POV
📖 Author / Actor

It was really a great time & if you’re looking for something low pressure, fun & a super bingable read - def pick this up!

this is one of those books where it just brings so much joy that you can’t put it down! Every single one of these characters were jumping off the page and so relatable and likeable that you literally could not help but adore them all.

i read this as a standalone, and it was my first book by this author! You absolutely don’t need to read the rest of the series to read this, BUT i can tell you I easily want to go back and read them.

The banter and humor in this book is absolutely top knotch. I was laughing and giggling almost every page. The characters are likeable and joyous to read and get to know!

I was SO HAPPY when the FMC’s conflict with the MMC didn’t drag on and continue a ton, that can be super worn and that didn’t happen! It was a very healthy progression of enemies to friends to lovers.

ALICE. i adore Alice. She was HILARIOUS. talk about a strong supporting character. I could have read pages on pages on pages of her convos with absolutely any of the other characters.

Overall you’re going to get…. a delicious (literally) enemies to lovers, closed door romance that brings all the good vibes and top tier feels.

I absolutely would recommend this and will be reading more by Jen very soon!
A Novel Love Story by Ashley Poston

Ashley Poston is quickly becoming a favorite author for me! Her books truly provide the best form of escapism that is surrounded by light and fluffy happiness that you just feel like you’re being given a warm hug the entire time you’re reading them.

A Novel Love Story was such a fun story line! I think, as readers, we always talk about how awesome it would be to be sucked into our favorite books and to experience them first hand, and this was exactly what you got in this book! Our FMC was sucked directly into her favorite series and helping pushing the town into their happily fever afters PLUS the added aspect of a time freeze was such a fun and interesting addition.

The banter is Poston’s books are always top tier for me. You get the sweet, fluttery romantic moments, but you’ll also find yourself giggling and kicking your feet at times too! This one had absolutely all those moments. I didn’t want to put it down because it just brought sheer joy.

The plot was a bit predictable at times and nothing really out of the blue happened to keep you “hooked” but if you’re looking for something cozy, light and sweet this would absolutely be the book for that.

I consumed via audio and really enjoyed the narrators, but i believe i may have even enjoyed it more as a written addition.

I would absolutely recommend this, and will continue reading anything Poston publishes.

i feel like… indifferent?  I had some issues with this book, and then I also enjoyed parts of this book but none of it felt overwhelmingly amazing that I would would remember it in a month or two.

What i liked:
I really loved the atmosphere of this book. The author did a really good job at making the reader feel like they’re in the story with them. TONS of show, not tell and I really loved that.

I adored Teddy, Laine and Zoe. I loved the character growth that Zoe had by the end of the book, i was worried she wasn’t going to get there but she did end up finding her way through.

What I wasn’t fond of:
I don’t really understand why the author had Laine’s pronouns included? She made a point to include her pronouns, but then maybe forgot? Absolutely no other time were they included in the book. I would have rather them been not included at all, rather than brought up to never be heard of again.

I also absolutely despised Rachel. I can’t express the amount i hated her, her character, everything 😆

Overall, i feel like… it was fine but wasn’t anything special. 🙈 I apologize. I enjoyed the read during, but don’t see myself remembering much about it.

Would I recommend? Sure. I’d also read more from this author.
