The concept of it is great and I loved the mystery of the main character trying to figure out who she was and where she was from. My biggest issue was the love interest who was way too possessive and controlling for my liking. I felt he was just not as likeable as the book was trying to make him out to be and some parts that seemed like they were meant to be romantic just made me uncomfortable. I can definitely see how some people would like that though especially with how it ties into the ending and I can see future books in this series being amazing but it just wasn't for me. The story as a whole though was amazing and I'm going to be anxiously awaiting the next book!

Amazing book! The writing was a bit difficult to get into but after around 50 pages I started to understand it better and by the end I was in love with the style. It can be hard to follow at points as it jumps between perspectives from different times in the book's history but it was another thing that over time started to make more sense. The whole concept felt very unique and the magic system stood out from a lot of other fantasy books. It is very dark and isn't a book for everyone but for people who are ok with gore and violence I would definitely recommend this book!
