This book was a big cozy warm hug with fantasy characters, lightweight world building, and an intriguing slice of life storyline. Just enough plot and intrigue to keep you interested while the rest is like wrapping up in a blanket. I don’t buy a lot of hard copies of books but I will be getting one for this and can’t wait for my kiddo to someday read this.

I didn’t think I could love Jex more but book 2 proved me wrong. Her banter and quick wit (even when she’s just thinking to herself) never failed to make me smile or laugh. I always love a main character with sass and she definitely wears her sassy pants all the time. And the spice on this ramped up to another total hotness level. Phew! There were reveals and surprises in this that were hinted at in the first book and yet I still was totally clueless. I loved each one. Can’t wait to read the next book to see what’s to come!

I’m hooked. Definitely going to keep going until I run out of books (because I have no self control) and then I’ll probably cry and wait impatiently for the rest to come out because I saw it’s supposed to be 9 books. Totally worth it based on how this has gone so far. Just the right amount of mystery and clues unraveling what’s happening. A touch of darkness (check trigger warnings) and intrigue. Super lovable characters who don’t mind sharing their flaws and an independent, strong, and capable female love interest who is learning how to rely on others.

This has a mystery vibe, magical(ish) elements, religion and kink and involves 6 friends with 3 key main characters so far. There’s diversity, plus size representations and openly LGBTQ as well - which is all wonderful. This was a slooooowwwwwww burn but holy hell once it caught fire it was 0 to 100. I’m in the 2nd book and the spice has only kept going. 😳😳🥵🥵
