I have mixed feelings on this one. I remember reading the first book and enjoying it but this one fell flat for me at times. About half way through the story, I found none of the characters likable. There were so many times I wanted to scream. I will say the last 20% bumped this up for me and the one twist at the end caught me off guard. I did enjoy the epilogue, the concept was cute.

From the beginning I was super enthralled with the storyline. A sapphic gothic atmospheric erotic mystery with diverse characters. This is my 2nd Alexis Henderson book and I love how they always write strong female characters. I find the plot and storylines to be satisfying. As we the reader get deeper and deeper into this complex story, you can really feel the creepy and eeriness and desperation from the MC.

One thing I wish we had more of was a little bit more information about the other Houses. It’s hard to gauge if what happens in the story is singular to House of Hunger (main focus) or if this is a common occurrence throughout… I’d love to see more stories from this world.

Ok I loved EVERYTHING about this. This has a really good combo of eerie/creepiness and romance. Even though it was a short novella, I thought the pacing was well done and I could feel the main character continue to unravel more and more. If you are a fan of Thrum, I definitely think you will like this. The spice level was kicked up in this one!

This book had excellent winter vibes. The atmosphere alone made the read worth it. The characters were so fascinating and even though it wasn’t really romance heavy, I clung to the little bits we got and maaaan why do I feel more giggly and satisfied in this book when there is absolutely no kissing than reading romance books with full on spicy scenes. 😂
