The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin
4.0
*spoiler* This book was actually really good over all even thought it got kind of slow towards the middle. Mara was an interesting character, but I have to say so was Noah. The ending wasn't much of a surprise for me...I was kind of expecting more for some reason. It hinted multiple times at the fact that Mara's ex-BF could be alive and my guess was true, same with Noah's ability. It was pretty fast read even though it had so many pages. I bought it the same day I finished it. One thing that I didn't like about it was Mara's mom. I feel that she was too crazy about everything. She acted like she was the freak show and not her daugher. At one point I almost threw my book at the wall because I got so ag rivaled with her character. Ugh! But I kept up with it until the book was done (my book is still intacted and safe... :3). I actually don't know if I'm going to read the second book in this trilogy...but I hope I make up my mind soon. :)

This book was overhyped in my perspective and a lot of people told me it was scary and creepy but I didn't find it creepy nor scary. I thought the book was just gory and that with so much blood and description it could get chilling to read at times. But it was NOT SCARY OR CREEPY. That stood at least for me. I'm one of those people who don't watch a lot of horror movies because I get very scared easily so trust me when I warn the not scary part. This book took me a while (a while being several days) to finish because it got slow and really mellow dramatic with the high school drama. I feel that that part should have been sped up a bit instead of being dragged on. I liked the plot twist and I actually thought all the italazied notion was going to lead to something stupid in the end but it didn't so it satisfied me there. I was happy that I was able to finish it at least and not have to make it an unfinished because there were multiple slow moment.

僕のヒーローアカデミア 1 Boku No Hero Academia 1 by Kōhei Horikoshi
5.0
This manga might rival my love for Naruto because I've come to adore Boku no Hero Academia, sometimes (just like in any manga) the art isn't the best but the story is always what keeps me wanting to know more. I read this manga b/c ppl were saying Black Clover was almost the exact same as Boku no Hero Academia and I can see some similarities however, unlike Black Clover, Boku no Hero Academia has a better story and isn't cliche. Sometimes the character does what you least expect him to do which is what keeps you wanting to know more. This manga, for me, has one of the best elements of surprise for a Shonen manga that I've ever read. Naruto and Black Clover got cliche and I was able to predict everything that would happen but this one...it keeps you thinking, most of the time while teaching valuable lessons along the way :) I also love the female characters XD All of them have such great personalities!
Anna Dressed in Blood by Kendare Blake

My real rating would be a 4.5 start for this book only because I think it could have used a bit more work in the romance. Even though I had a feeling it wasn't going to last long, I wasn't very convinced that Cas was as in love with her as she was with him. Yeah they kissed a few times and in the end he didn't admit it out loud but it was clear in the line about the 'aura' reading that he was in love with her. However, there was something that just stopped me from being fully convinced. Maybe it's the fact that he was sometimes reluctant to trust Anna (he he held doubt in her)...maybe it was that their love was found kinda late into the book and didn't really have any time to grow..I guess all of those can be factors maybe....I'm going to read the sequel though to see.
