Loved this retelling! It’s always so fun to read a modern interpretation of a silenced female voice, such as Daphne’s, from the time. She is one tough mf

idk why but i just cannot read another pathetic character right now. sally’s writing is good but i just hate her characters with a passion. they are shitty human beings which i know is the point but damn bruh i could not help but fall into the depression the characters were experiencing (which is an impressive feat by miss rooney). just really a toughie to crank out and i honestly don’t know what the lesson here is. also ends on a cliff hanger so that sucked

EMILY babe you did something here you really did. kickass, loveable heroine (which is a rarity) and honestly centers on the relationship between her and her sister. love is definitely in there but i was so impressed with how she captured sisterhood. last 50 pages killed me i am writing this from the grave

any book that can make me cry is an immediate 4 star. when a book makes me sob uncontrollably at 3 am? 5 stars baby. it’s not that it’s incredibly sad but madeline knows how to write like i am truly impressed.
