Really enjoyed this book! It's my first time listening to a thriller by J.D. Robb. Looking into his previous works he's written over 60 novels in this series and somehow managed to still keep things fast, fresh and unpredictable in this novel.

I found the pace of this book fast! Just the way it should be for a thriller and I found myself engaged in the plot and connected to the characters throughout the entire thing!

Will definitely recommend to my friends and followers looking for a fun thriller!

I was very excited for this book because Eliza Reids other books have been some of the best I've read but this book was very disappointing.

The story was a slow burn but not much happening throughout. You can also tell that the person writing this book has a background in politics. A lot of unnecessary and pretentious language and working used that made the story often unrelateable to myself as the reader.

Another example of a flawed judicial system and a clear lack of initiative and motivation to find and convict the right person for a brutal crime. Joshua Sharpe did an amazing job investigating this and getting it down on paper in a way that kept the true story intriquing. Often these types of Journalistic true crime novels end up just being fact’s spewed at you on the pages and don’t focus on the true narrative of the story being shared. I really found that Joshua did a great job balancing this on the pages. Honestly such a hear breaking story to read about but one that everyone should take the time to learn about and reflect on.

The Man No One Believed is out August 5th, 2025! Thank you NetGalley, Joshua Sharpe, and W. W. Norton & Company for the ARC. This ARC was provided in exchange for an honest review.

This was a well written, emotional reflection on crime towards Black Americans. Trymaine Lee really makes you feel his pain and his emotion through his narration. No matter how many accounts you read on this top it’s never enough to really make you understand the hatred and violence experienced.

I found this listen to be very reflective and informative. I would highly recommend picking up this audio when it comes out on September 9th!
