As a lover of random things and weird facts I found this book fascinating!
Well narrated and laid out well. I enjoyed the that each chapter took me on a journey, with each story painting a picture of how the axe has been used and evolved over the centuries!
It was a bit slow but overall a relatively short/quick listen!

Full transparency, If I hadn’t requested this from NetGalley and felt obligated to finish this book to leave an honest review this would have been a DNF for me.
I personally found it really hard to connect with the characters in this story and felt like they lacked any depth. The names for some of the characters like Billy Bob and Bobbie Sue from Texas were a bit on the nose and uninspired in my opinion.
A big reason requested this was for the plot being pitched as a horror/mystery that took place in the Arctic and although the location was there there was very little reference or tie to this throughout the horror elements of the story. If the Arctic wasnt referenced this story could have literally taken place anywhere.
Overall not a great read.

This was a 4 star for me! I really enjoyed the narration by Edoardo Ballerini! Felt like I was watching a true crime series! I found it really easy to get into this and stay engaged! The narration made this a fast listen even on 1.5-175 speed it was still really easy to keep up with the story.
I was not familiar with the story of Jennifer Dulos but I felt like this was a great introduction to the story of her life and the crime that ultimately cost her her life. You could tell that this biography was well thought out and really well researched by the Author Richard Cohen. I highly recommend if you are a true crime junkie!
Overall a very intriguing story and im definitely excited to dive more into this true crime!
