I dont think any book has ever made me cry that hard

A reread of a solid childhood favourite! I loved this book growing up and upon rereading it I still love it, looking forward to pocking up the rest of the series

Sadly I was not a fan of this, i didnt like the charactwrs, found the fight scenes hard to follow, and just didnt get along with it.

It wasnt badmy written though and the story had potential so possibly this book just wasnt for me

Really good horror. I loved this book, ive decided it is currently my top horror read of 2024!

Fantastic world building and characters. Despite the size of the book and the vast cast I found it easy enough to follow the story. Highly enjoyed and cannot wait to read a day of fallen night

The first 75 oages of this just annoyed me, it felt like watching a bad high school drama but make it fantasy but after that i was quite honestly hooked. The entire series is very YA and is very much a political fantasy with a romance subplot, and while I dont think its the best thing ive ever read, i still couldnt put it down.

Id recommended this series for anyone just getting into fantasy or for people who like romantasy but someetimes want the romance to take a little step back.

I enjoyed it, I found the ending really silly though and it took me out of the story. But the rest of the book was so enjoyable im not that bothered!

I really enjoyed this series, its very YA and pretty predictiable but I loved it and couldnt put it down.
I can see why its so popular!

There was a lot tropes in it I usually dont like but I find they did nit bother me nearly as much as they usually do.

Honestly I'd say if you want a quick read fantasy series that is easy to follow this is a great place to start, I also think it would be a very good starting point for those that are completely new to fantasy.

I really enjoyed the first half of this book and thought it was going to end up a great horror read.
It was an atmospheric slow build that I wrongly assumed was setting up some great horror
once Gabe and Harry moved in (which I could see happening a mile away)

But instead the ending was anticlimactic and rushed, I found the ending very predictiable and the horror aspect all died out. All the atmospheric set up just dissapated.

As for the characters I really liked Harry and Gabe and emphasised with their struggles a lot but I found their reactions to the horror around them pretty lackluster. Harry just did not seem phased in the slighted by the ghostly happenings. Particularly
when Gabe was possessed she dealt with it all a little too calmly

Overall a quick and easy read with a great writing style and an okay plot
