REVIEW IN ENGLISH IS BELOW.

Vrijeme diktature, vrijeme politickih spletki, vrijeme kada si dobro pazio sto i kako smijes govoriti, kako se smijes ponasati, o cemu smijes pricati i o cemu smijes pisati....sve to isprepleteno kroz pravi labirint likova i prica, sa izvrsnim humoristicnim dosjetkama, dozom misterije, krimi pricom i romansom.

Zafon je zaista majstor svog zanata. Sjena vjetra uvjerljivo je jos uvijek najbolji dio cjelog serijala, no Labirint duhova ga slijedi. Iako je navedeno da je redoslijed citanja nevazan, ja preporucam da se cita po redu, lakse ce biti pratiti pricu koja je prilicno zamrsena.

Sve u svemu, odlican serijal kojem cu se definitivno jos vracati.

EN:
It's really hard to describe Zafon's books. The way he talks about Barcelona is something special - the city we know as city of lights, modern and buzzing, with only few sentences transforms itself in something mystical and magical; we enter the Barcelona as it once was - the city of fog and shadows. Time of dictatorship and political schemes, when you had to watch not only what you talk about, but also what you read and what you write...all this intertwined with a labyrinth of characters and stories, with witty humor and a bit of mystery and romance makes this series a really unique reading.

Zafon really is a master of his art. I didn't find this book the best of the series - Shadow of the wind is still nr.1, but it's as close as it can get to it. If you're thinking over reading it or not, just go with it. Trust me, you wont regret it a bit!

Well, I had to read this book since it has Croatia in it's name, and not only it's my homeland, but I've been living here whole my life. It's interesting to see how foreigners see my country, and I have to say, even though I have been on all the described places in the book, I'd want to go there again after reading it :).

This book is romance novel at it's finest, and can't be more of a perfect beach book than it is. For all the romance lovers, this one is a must read, just as Croatia is a must visit. Trust me, I know :).

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the arc of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Read this one in a day! When you start reading, you just can't let go. It's a truly delightful book with all the elements of a great summer read: an interesting story, warm characters and great atmosphere..I mean, who can resist a French Riviera scenery and all the amazing food there?!. I will certainly look up for more books from this author. My recommendations,

Thnx to NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Although the author himself is really an impressive character and the story of his coming to America and becoming a citizen is indeed a story of sucess and persistance, I found the writing a bit confusing. It took me time to get through first few chapters and although I got caught up in it afterwards, I still feel like its missing someting.

Anyway, I reccomend it as a way to learn more about Haitian lifestyle and as a short insight in a immigrants way of life / story of a succes.

A fun, feel good book about old friends, new friends, new beginnings and good and bad sides of Internet today. A great reminder that although it improves your chances of sucess, you have to be extra careful while using it.

I received a free ARC of this book for exchange of my honest opinion.

I really loved this book. Although my kids are now 6 and 3.5 yrs old, I still can remember the horrors of childbirth, the long and sleepless nights, and the whole hurricane of emotions that only new mothers can know. I loved authors honesty and realism, but also a feel good end of the novel. It really does get better with time, and although you may never ever be the person you were before kids, you actually never have to be. You will be improved, the parts of old you will eventually come back, but with some extras...And that is wonderful.

I recommend this book to all moms-to-be, new moms and moms with older kids...whether to be a guidance, an insight of how we all go through similar things, or just a reminder of what a big change we mothers go through.

Thank you NetGalley for a free copy of this book in exchange for my personal opinion.
