Ribbons of Scarlet: A Novel of the French Revolution's Women by Heather Webb, E. Knight, Sophie Perinot, Laura Kamoie, Stephanie Dray, Kate Quinn
3.0
I hate the fact that some of the storylines stay unfinished and the fact that some of them are way too long without purpose. Some parts of it were really interesting, but some chapters were really boring.
Overall a good idea, but could have had a better execution.

Reminders of Him by Colleen Hoover

I wanted to love this book so much... but the plot holes are so big, I couldn't just ignore them.
The idea was really good but the execution was so poor.
When you find out, in the first few chapters who Ledger is, you start wondering she didn't see a photograph of him? No photograph in Facebook or Instagram with the 2 of them together? Or with Scotty and Keena? Nothing? This is the first plot hole and many follow...
The ending is rushed, unworthy of the story the writer wanted to give to the reader. For me its a no.
But because I listen to it as an audibook, I will give a whole 5 stars to the narrators who make this so so much better.

Daisy Jones & The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid

Maybe if I had read this book, instead of listening to the audio book, the rating would have been a 3 or a 4, I can't tell. But let me tell you, the audio version of this book is absolutely amazing, keeps you up and makes you want to go back a listen to it, to find out what happens next!
I guess this is not everyone's cup of tea, but TJR, has done an amazing job traveling you to the 70s, giving you all the sex, the drugs and rock and roll of that time.
Please if you read or thinking about reading this, go get this audio version, even if you prefer reading books.

The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid

I wanted about 100 more pages of this, to get before the ending. Not because I don't loved it, but because I feel 100 more pages would have opened the world to a bit more on how it felt only a few years back to be queer and famous.
How many famous people gave away their personal happiness in order to achieve their fame and name, how many regretted it, how many made other people suffer because of this.
It was beautiful, unexpected and dare a say, that all I wanted was for it to be a bit more, to have the final "husband" last a bit longer, with more details etc.
I really don't get the hate around this book, the why some people dont like it. Its rare to get another view of historical fiction, mixed with the reality of what the LGBTQ community had to go through a few decades ago, the reality of how many of the older Hollywood stars are hiding.

Daughter of the Moon Goddess by Sue Lynn Tan

I love the retelling of myths, folklore stories, fairy tales and I love it more when is done with excellence, staying true to the country's culture and allure.
I ll be honest, I never read or knew the Chinese stories and I do know that this book, only takes part of the myth of the moon goddess and creates new stories, however, this is a story that makes you fall in love with the Chinese legends, that creates in you the need to search for more stories and learn more things about the history and legends.
The battles, the romantic essence of it, everything was just perfectly written and it helped create a part of the fantasy world in your mind.
Yes, some parts of it were slow and the thoughts of Xingyin are some times boring, but in a book with so many fight scenes and adventures it needs a few pages of lower pace to keep you going.
I am now eager for the second part!

One True Loves by Taylor Jenkins Reid

Its one of those books that you need to make sure you have enough time to finish it in a go. One of those books, that hides nothing of true, real emotions and feelings. It doesn't make you feel that this couldn't be real, is far fetched, but it could... And Sam is sooo unreal, but there are men like him out there.
I am starting to fall in love with TJR books, not because of her speech, or her choose of words, but because she can give you full raw emotions, both good and ugly. Yes, I cant give this book a 5, but it's really good, really fast pasted, and keeps you hooked to that storyline.
And please, save yourself from the spoilers. It doesn't really matter who she chooses at the end, nothing will make her choice 100% OK, not matter what it is. For me it was what I hoped for, but after I reflected on her other choice, I felt the sorrow, the unfairness of all...
