This book made me fall in love, laugh, broke my heart to make me fall in love again! Mia is a character I really saw myself into and Will is just THE guy I wish I had. Also the two chapters from his point of view at the end was a very good idea, eagerly waiting to be able to read the next one in the serie!

Probably my new favorite book to be completely honest! Suggested it to my mother to read, which she is currently also loving!

This novel is the story of a young lady, Cody, who discover that her bestfriend, Meg, killed herself. Thoses two ladies were “best friends”, although Cody never knew that her sister of heart was depressive and even thought of suicide until the day it happened. She’s hurt and lost.. why did she never spoke to her about it ?! What must she do now that a piece of herself is not living anymore ? Pushed by the realisation that she always lived in Meg’s shadow, she goes on an adventure to understand and find out what truly happened - not only for her, but also for Meg’s parents ..

Although this book didn’t let my brain in ebullition after every read like my last one did, I quite enjoyed it nonetheless. Giving it 4 stars out of 5.
At first, this is not the book I thought it would had been, and I found the start to be a bit lenghtly. But the further I went, I got scooped into it and even feared of what Cody would discover. A warning however, this might not be the book for you if you are in a dark state of mind, like I was. I related to Cody so much in the way she acted, but also that I decided to buy this book when my depression was much more strong than it is now - and, like her, my very own bestfriend is hours apart from me. Some things i stood into from this book was a bit hard for me to take in the moment - for exemple the interactions with “All_BS”.

This is the first book that treat of mental illness and suicide this close to reality that i’ve read, which made me shed some tears at the end .. in the thanks pages at the end, The author even wrote a little tribute to every men and women who battle depression/mental illness/mood disorders/suicide who surrended it and ended up recovering, but also to thoses of us who couldn’t make it.. along with some encouragements to do reach out and talk about it and seek the help we may need;

At the time I am posting this review, I will admit that I didn’t finished re-reading it just yet, But I decided to post it anyway because it is one of my favorite books for as long as 5years.

So let’s start with what this book is about, shall we? So this book start with a lady named Emmie sending an email to Leo Leike to unsubscibe herself from a magazine - but thing is, it’s absolutely not the right email address! So he then reply saying that it’s not actually the email of that magazine, and couple days & months later she continue the same mistake. Both of them then enroll themselves into email conversations to each other. Strictly via email, and never ever mentionning where they work/hobbies/daily day to day stuff they finally begin to create a friendship that can only exist via the interwebs. They both becomes the internal voice of the other and can’t get themselves to risk losing that if ever something were to happen to it.. aka after they saw each other « in real life ». However, the urge to be closer to the other person is really heavy - but Emmie is happily married with two kids while leo just got into a broke up. Will they get to finally meet eachother in despice of what can happen next?

One thing I really absolutely adore in this book is the format. It is written in style of the emails they write/receive, which is making it so easy for me to read! Even with a reading slump and my mental illnesses acting up, I get to read about 50-100pages every time I pick up the book! So it can be a quickly read on top of an easy one, which is what make it a good option for while in a reading slump! Another thing I really love, is how much you feel the person’s character through their emails - I feel just as if Emmie would be real and writing emails to me ! Although I tend to prefer books where they make you into the person’s point of view and where you really feel as in you are into the action, this one is more as if i’d be hiding in a bush in front of an appartment and see them writing to each other from the other side of the window, if you get my draft… after all thoses years I can still remember clearly what happens in the story, and still remain one of my favorite - a 5stars for me ✨

This book was not quite what I expected. For some reason, I expected receiving some "real experience" with the paranormal; which wasn't that at all. I did enjoyed three short stories in this books; "Memento Mori","Ghost hunters" and "Uncommon Valor " that did made me cry; but the rest fell flat for me. It was either using some hard english I couldn't understand or I couldn't identify the paranormal aspect of the stories ..

Did not finish book.
This book was an okay read; I wasn't fully unliking it, but wasn't super into it either.
It felt dragging - I don't understand why we got so much of the story over the (re)building and preparation of the house instead of the haunting of the haunted house itself. The horror in it didn't had any effect on me either and just felt really long to read overall.

The idea was a good one, but could've been done better.
