I honestly love non-fictions like this; furthermore it was nicely devided in different categories like the history of death, magic of morticians, march to the graves, and more. The pages layout and colored pages were attractive to read and I loved the additions of “dumb ways to die”.
I had missed so much on this book, wish i’d have read it sooner! Along with Eliza & her monsters, I related the most with the MC’s anxiety; I felt so understood! Though i’ve made great progress along the years, some things I still struggle with like talking to new people & leaving the house on my own.
When I got aware there was clearly time travel, I was a bit wary.. but no, it was done in a way that wasn’t confusing to my brain. Oppose to other books that have the time skip constantly, this one played more like in a videogame- game over and restart style.
though I found lot’s of inspiring book quotes found in this one.. I was kinda dissappointed. The second & fourth tries were the worst to read, and for that? I’m not happy with this ending, the loop lasted way too long. The author could’ve had made the same point without making him go through the loop so many times..
You know when you read a book and it feels more like if you’re watching a TV show? that’s exactly the feeling I had while reading this! After reading, I felt like I had been watching survivor or something of the like- A love couple reality TV gone wrong where the contestants are to fend for themselves struck on an island with no communication with the outside world.
I also love how the women stayed with each other, and tried to help Zana despite her situation of domestic abuse by that point who wasn’t taking their help. They stayed united through everything, Specially Lyla, Angel & Santana. She also successfully wrote a survival thriller with a diabetic woman and NOT kill her the easy way right away- Santana fought for dear life until the end of the book.
It's a collection of short stories being 1 or 2 pages maximum each- all following a theme of burglary going wrong. As you can guess, human's stupidity really is something.. and I gotta say that's hilarious 😆 Many times have I giggled to myself or facepalmed inward.
At first I thought it was gonna be read in no time, which I don't really like to read a book too fast, but I was wrong! despice it being multiple stories that gets read pretty fast, it lasted longer that I pictured it at first. A slight too long for my taste however.
I loved how their relationship progressed, it was adorable! Specially the scene in the elevator at the beginning of it- while i’m not really scared of the dark, I am claustrophobic, so the thought of being stuck in an elevator for a while? That’s it. i’m out.
