Nope nope nope. This was NOT for me. I had heard that it was weird, that it was too weird even for some people. But I thought: "I can handle weird, I can understand weird, I can look behind the weird and see the meaning of it." I couldn't. All I read was
sex with a mermaid
And it was not pleasent. I wanted to DNF it multiple times, because it got too much, but I forced myself, because I really was sure it would all make sense in the end. Spoiler:
it didn't

This audiobook was 2 hours long and that was just enough. If it was any longer, I would have DNF'd it. I understand what it tried to accomplish and the author has beautiful prose, but it was slow and didn't go anywhere.

The concept was interesting, but personally I didn't like that the story became so action packed and plot driven. I would've want to learn more about the world and the characters.

It was an enjoyable read! I listened to it initially because Mara Wilson was the narrator and it has POTS representation, something I never read about. Overall it was a bit slow and also genrewise something I would never pick up. But I had a fun time listening to it.

the lesbian interaction felt super duper rushed though hahaha and I had to relisten to the part to be sure I heard it correctly lol
