Letters to My Ex by Nikita Singh
3.0
The story revolves around Nidhi and Abhay. They are madly in love and have been together for five years. Until one day, Nidhi decides to walk away from Abhay without giving him any sort of explanation, that too on their engagement day. The story portrays an actual state of ambiguity and deception because this is how it occurs. Seldom do you know that you don't desire something or it is not ample for you, but you are unable to give the other person the legitimate logic for the decisions you made. Nidhi spends a lot of time soul searching, and she knows it subconsciously, but afraid to say it loud. With the help of each other, they come to the conclusion that remodels their relationship dynamics. This fast-paced book is best suitable for young romance-loving readers.

Koi Good News? by Zarreen Khan
5.0
If I need to express my feelings for this book in one word, I am going to say wow. The story is brutally honest, and it is Zarreen Khan's second book. It is in my tbr for more than a year, and I am so glad that I finally picked it. Apart from all the fun and quirkiness, this kind of book made you think about how much a woman suffers after marriage and the way, she lost her dignity to a bunch of people. For me, this book is not just about public pregnancy, but a tale for understanding, how critical it is to live life on your terms, and creating boundaries.
If you read this book, you'll know not to settle for a person like Ramit and his doctrinal family. I just want to say don't make unwanted sacrifices to please a bunch of morons. Women you're born to express not to impress. Also, the story is written in informal English, and you'll going to find lots of Hindi words. It made me laugh, irritated, and thoughtful towards some important things, so, yes, I am going to recommend this book big time. It is a fast-paced, fun book, and I can't wait to see it on the big screen.

Criminal Love?: Queer Theory, Culture, and Politics in India by R. Raj Rao
5.0
The LGBT people are forced to live in a closet, and those who come out of it face prejudice, harassment, and also physical assault. R. Raj Rao depicts the dynamics of society and its norms, the way they can't picture two same-sex people showing affection or live life on their terms. The fear was always there, but slowly things are changing. There are a lot of people behind that change, who constantly fight and faced all the hypocrisy.
The author's approach is to criticize past and present norms concerning the subject. The use of words shows his grip on the language. I absolutely loved this novel; the author is living as openly gay for the last 40 years and the face of many gay-rights movements. As he said and I quote, this book is an attempt to delink alternative sexuality from gender and establish it as an autonomous category. In doing so, one risks getting into conflict with the law. This book will open your eyes and make you understand the community's struggles and dirty politics that snatch their rights. I highly recommend it.

MY INTENTION WASN'T TO FOLLOW YOU by Sadia Khalid
4.0
It is a debut book written by Sadia Khalid. She created a fantasy world that revolves around hidden creatures living on the Earth. The plot is based on Ireland, where a billionaire Blaise Reynor falls in love with Giselle Oslen. Little did she knows that he is following him for some other purpose.
The narration is slow-paced because Sadia Khalid describes everything in detail, leaving no loose ends. It also makes the story more intriguing, and I loved the part when Giselle uses the favour that is given her by the Glints. The language is easy to understand, but a few Spanish words you need to look online while reading. This fantasy book is best suitable for young adults. It is a story of love, friendship, and selfishness. I recommend it.

The Girl in Room 105 by Chetan Bhagat
2.0
The story has some kind of suspense, but like any other Chetan Bhagat books, it is filled with Hindi language abuses, objectifying women and their choices. It is like something you watch on a big screen, a commercialized movie based on a novel. I think the purpose of his writing is to give the Bollywood another feature film, nothing else.
The author talks about how people see Muslims in general, also the hate for Indian Army in Kashmir, and the people of Kashmir do not see themselves as a part of India, the policemen abusing their powers are a few points that made me stop reading for sometimes, so I can reflect on it. Overall, it is an okay read. If you hit a reading slump or someone who wants to improve their English, pick this book.

Unfettered Journey by Gary F. Bengier
4.0
Unfettered Journey by Gary F. Bengier probes us to learn the philosophical aspects of nature, subconscious, and AI. The year 2161, after the Climate war, there is a lack of natural resources. People rely on bots and modern technology. The government divides remaining humans into levels, in simple terms, it is like caste, where some people relish, and other's suffering.
The story portrays a different layer of emotions and urges. Even after the awful extinction, people think about themselves first, and the division was there in the form of levels. The book questions an age-old topic of God and religion, and if there is a creator which is described as She, not He by the author. The book is filled with impactful messages and conversations that assist you to think about the future we are heading. If you're looking for some speculative sci-fi book recommendations, here is the one you should read. I recommend it.

Bulbul or An Unsung Song by Sidharth Vardhan
1.0
It is one of the worst read of this year for me, and I am shocked at how this book is overrated on Goodreads. Not a single reviewer point out the errors. I will not recommend this book to anyone ever. There's a long, long way to go for the author.

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban by J.K. Rowling
5.0
I like Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban much better and intriguing than the other two. The bond between Sirius and Harry was shown little in the end, but it was impactful, and anyone can feel it. They both deserve a loving family but didn't have any, one suffers at Dursley and another one in Azkaban. I think sometimes what will follow if they didn't lose Peter Pettigrew? Sirius will prove his innocence and had a chance to live with dignity.

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by J.K. Rowling
4.0
I am on fire, not literally. But I finish Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets within a day. In the second Harry Potter series, a house-elf Dobby tried his best to stop Harry to go to the Hogwarts. Why? Because someone is planning something drastic in the school, and Dobby wants to keep Harry safe and sound.
The book is fast-paced, and just like the first part, Hermione and Ron proved to be great sidekicks, but ultimately the hero was Harry Potter. I want to read how Ginny and Harry's love blossom in the next books, because they didn't describe it much in the movies. It was like eye-connection and sudden kisses in the further part, but I want more details. With that, I am going to start reading the third part, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.
