This book is a deep dive into gender and sexuality and is refreshingly honest. although i do not identify with everything Maia talks about it in this, i find myself feeling *very* seen in parts and holy cow i just wish i’d read this sooner. 16-year-old me needed this. i’ve grown up questioning my sexuality (until i finally felt comfortable coming out as pansexual) and have dealt with the stigma and stereotypes of being ‘different’ (note: ur not different in a bad way, but unfortunately society makes us feel like we are) and this book has brought so much comfort to me and has helped me realise that i was not alone with many of my thoughts and feelings growing up. i really cannot recommend this enough 🫶🏼 pls check content warnings before going forth with this book as it does touch on very personal, intimate detailings of sexuality and gender identity. i don’t usually rate non-fics because it doesn’t feel right rating someone’s life ? but i 100% would give this 5 (if not more) stars because of the raw emotion and inspiration this book holds. pls read this asap <3
