My friend called it dragon trash and honestly that’s a good explanation for it. It’s like bad tv or predictable rom coms: designed for easy consumption, perfect for the burnt out brain that needs a little numbing entertainment. Personally, the writing is not my taste. It’s a mess of split infinitives and unnecessary telling instead of showing. Five star cringe fest. 0 star quality.

It’s been a long time since a book had a plot twist that meant I couldn’t put it down until I got beyond it. Definitely a new favorite. Highly recommend.

This book tells a necessary story. It unfolds like a mystery, but don’t fall for it like thrill seekers watching the original shows put out by the FBI or listening to modern true-crime podcasts. This is not entertainment. As a member of humanity, this is a part of your history. Weep with those who weep.

This series combines lighthearted absurdity with playful forays into philosophical thoughts before quickly inserting something totally out of left universe. Douglas Adams is a genius. You don’t have to like science fiction to enjoy this comedy.

Despite the obscurity of these poems, they are among my most favorite and treasured. They are resonant with emotion. Each poem strikes a unique chord and is worth savoring to the last word.

A wonderful book to take at your own pace. Each chapter stands alone as an opportunity for reflection. The way Green weaves these small snapshots with elements of both general and personal anecdotal history is refreshing - meaning the essay never gets boring. Every twist and turn is itself a left field out of which his point ties together. In short: I loved it.

I give The Anthropocene Reviewed five stars.

The most gorgeous plot twist I could have ever encountered. One that broke my heart open wide and destroyed me. I cried instantly. Please read.
