I loved this Greek tale a lot. It was beautifully written. A character I had never truly known much about came to life, her story had me standing alongside her mixing herbs for her spells, understanding her griefs and her triumphs. Circe was such an outstanding read. Definitely worth it, it may seem slow to some but the pacing was spot on for a book that tells a classic greek tragedy is such a fresh way
Maybe I was expecting too much from this book because I wanted it to be a 5 star read and it just wasn’t for me. Don’t get me wrong, I really enjoyed it, I liked the characters and the dragons, I liked the relationships, I liked the how to train your dragon vibes but that’s just it. I only liked it. I guessed all the plot twists before they happened. It read like many of the ya fantasy I read 10-15 years ago though the relationship scenes have grown spicier since then 😂
Was it a good book? Yes Did I enjoy it? Yes Will I read the next one: Yes Was this the best thing I’ve read all year: No
Flaws of characters a main focus? It's complicated
5.0
Reread in prep for CC3 and in true Sarah J Maas fashion this book feels like it’s a bit slow and the last 200 pages just rip you to shreds! However there is a lot happening in this book. I loved being able to listen to the audio and then read the physical book seamlessly. I love me the characters, the plot and I can’t wait for book 3!!
