This book took me a while to get into. The writing felt very YA which can be okay but wasn’t really working for me. Some of the pacing was also a bit off and the ending was resolved very easily and quickly. I love historical romances and the pining that comes with them but a lot of this felt rushed.
Rosalie is a little matchmaker and is set on pairing her friends off with the right people while she’s stuck preparing to be engaged to a total dud of a man. Catherine and her family recently moved to Bath from the country for her debut season. What neither girl could know is that their mothers were best friends once upon a time. The girls work together to find and repair the rift between their mothers, set up their friends, begrudgingly fight over the dud, and maybe find actual love for themselves.
I really loved the friendships that developed between all of the characters, and the support they all had from their families in the end. Christopher is a top tier brother and I would do anything for him. Aunt Genevieve is also such a sweet character and I adored her and her compassion for both Rosalie and Catherine
