My first experience with an Elin Hildebrand novel left me with mixed feelings, reflected in my overall rating of 3 stars. While it was an okay read,  I found myself eagerly anticipating its conclusion,  as certain elements felt predictable and drawn out.
One aspect I did appreciate was Hildebrand's vivid depiction of Nantucket,  from its scenic sights to its cozy eateries and beaches. The idea of a five star weekend with friends, sparked my desire to host a similar gathering- though with less emphasis on cooking, unlike the main character Hollis Shaw.
At its core, the novel delves into the complexities of long-standing friendships,  highlighting the challenges and triumphs that come with such enduring bonds. All the characters have something going on!
Throughout the book, the lives of the characters unfold, each grappling with their own personal struggles and dilemmas. As the story reaches its conclusion, I couldn't help but feel ready for the book to end and ready for closure.
