I was surprised by how much I could enjoy a book that goes into so much detail about the processes involved in perfumery, but due to the brilliant and beautiful descriptive writing, I was immersed in this story. It took me over a week to get over the shock ending!

I loved the idea of this novel and appreciate the dedication to portray each 'person' in Elizabeth's personality. However, I found it difficult to read from the middle section onwards, often quite chunky and by the end I was struggling to remain focussed.
