I kinda hated this but couldn’t stop reading so I don’t really know what that means or how to rate/review. 🤷‍♀️🙄

I really appreciated how this histrom diverged from the more traditional or stereotypical Duke/Duchess/upper class ton setting and focused on academia and featured a working class heroine (and hero, to an extent… he’s the second son of a baron). There is a class difference and obviously, a taboo element to the romance (teacher/student) but both are explored and executed wonderfully.

Both characters are sweet and lovable, but our hero, Spencer, ugh, he was just such a teddy bear! A shy, hopelessly in love hero with *limited experience?! A hero I didn’t know I needed! And Faith, who is determined to receive an education at a time when women’s education was only for the upper class and even then extremely limited.

My only gripe was the side plotline (I can’t give more details without spoiling). I just felt like it was too quickly rushed for a novella. If this were a full length novel and this side arc was thrown in, I think it could have been really well done.

I loved this glimpse of life outside of ballrooms and Mayfair townhouses, and highly recommend for any histrom lovers! Thanks to the author for the complimentary arc. All opinions are my own.
