Matt's character has changed drastically, and not as a plot element. Brandon Sanderson is doing a good job but I think he's going overboard and exagerrating Matt's character too much.

It's a little commentary, but mostly primary source documents, which are indispensable when researching. Unfortunately, it makes for pretty dry reading when going through the parts you're not too interested in. As a source of information for Indian history, though, it's great!

A little dry in some parts, and a little rambling in others, it ultimately gives the reader a clear window into the world of al-Andalus. It sparked my desire to study the period further.
