The Sun Down Motel by Simone St. James

Strong female lead still needs rescuing by a chiseled handsome (but mysterious) man, because god forbid she can handle things herself. Ok.

Heads dangerously close to Stephen King territory, but fortunately stops just in time to remain a good thrilling read.
Hell House by Richard Matheson

If The Haunting of Hill House would have been written at a coffee shop, Hell House would have been written at a brothel
Incident at Devils Den, a true story by Terry Lovelace, Esq.: Compelling Proof of Alien Existence, Alleged USAF Involvement and an Alien Implant Discovered Accidentally on X-Ray by Terry Lovelace Esq

Started off pretty intriguing, ended with "man slowly reveals himself to be insane." The thing that bothers me most is that the dialog was written as if someone only learned how to have a conversation by watching The Brady Bunch. Otherwise kinda fun.
The Cold Vanish: Seeking the Missing in North America's Wildlands by Jon Billman

Ok we all know why we read this. If I were to say anything it would be that this focuses less on growth and more on validation, which is perfectly fine too. It's also roughly the length of a brochure so there's that as well.

Somehow exactly what I wanted to read, although some of the more interesting ideas were abandoned in favour of long winded minutiae.
