This book took me on an emotional roller coaster. Even now that I’m finished I don’t know how to feel. I couldn’t put the book down. No matter how hard I tried. It had a hold on me and has given me a great deal to think about. Educated might just have changed my life.

When I purchased this book it was simply because of the title and the cover. I am so thankful I read this book. Reading the stories of other black women who love books was like walking into a group hug of sisters and best friends. I love love loved the list of all the books broken down my genre and author. From this one book I’ve picked out maybe 20 or more to read. Favorite book of 2019 for sure!

I couldn’t put this book down!!! I didn’t know how I’d feel about it considering half / most of it is during slavery. I was gripped from the first page. I couldn’t wait to see what was next. Dana and Rufus’ journey game me all the feels and a ton to think about. How thin is the line between love, hate, and codependency?
