the book started off slow and kind of boring but got soooo fucked up

although i did find a lot of things extremely obvious like
jamie and terrells involvement, and belle being sisters with the “dead” girl
and there were a lot loose ends at the end, there were a few things i hadn’t predicted and i still really enjoyed it.

the 3 stars i gave were mainly for the message of the story which is so important

Did not finish book. Stopped at 23%.
this book is so bad

FIRST OF ALL the blurb is a complete lie: they never dated (they literally knew each other for a week) and he recognized her immediately

SECOND OF ALL charlie is a literal child….. all of her traits are so infantile and it’s so annoying

THIRD OF ALL william is about as interesting as a rock and he’s a bit of an ass (when she SHOOK A CLIENTS HAND for a LITTLE TOO LONG he felt the need to remind her that she can’t date clients. literally what the fuck???)

could not recommend this any less👍

i mean. i didn’t hate it?? casey and alex were cute but i found the plot kind of confusing and so was the authors writing style (some of the texts, flashbacks being in the middle of conversations)

also this was very much not an enemies to lovers because all of the “bickering” happened off page and after their second (on page) conversation you could already tell that they were becoming friends

despite the fifty million children i enjoyed the book and finished it in basically a day? i was getting so emotional the entire time and started crying when it ended (i didn’t even read the entire series i only read half the books??) i think i’m just about to get my period idk

why the fuck did the book literally end with papa eden wanting to fuck his wife so bad

uh??????

first of all we’re gonna ignore how i jumped from book 1 to book 5…

anyways i loved how the mystery took up a lot of the plot! (unlike in book 1) but again, the romance felt so much more like lust than love

pretty obvious that cormac was gonna end up being innocent but i still liked the reveal of what happened and how vera’s still alive

another thing, the book just ended without us knowing what happens to cormac??? also what happened with vance trauma dumping his family story and nothing getting resolved with it like what was the point😭 is that insensitive idk idc

i did enjoy the book but i’m giving it three stars just because it wasn’t what i was expecting?

the murder mystery was very much a side plot (even less than a side plot in the first half of the book) and the “romance” felt more like lust than anything
